Cora's Opal Copper Bracelet
Details
This one carries something quieter than most the green stones catch the light in a way that stops people mid-sentence.
I shaped each wire frame by hand, curve by curve, then set the opals myself before closing the cuff. People who wear copper tend to keep it close. I've spent forty years watching that happen.
This is part of my final collection. When these are gone, I won't be making more. I hope it finds someone who wears it every day.
Material: 99.9% Pure Copper
Size: 1.8mm – 5mm
How do I know if it's real copper?
Pure copper isn't magnetic. Most of the copper jewelry sold online is either plated (a thin copper coating over a cheaper metal like steel or brass) or alloyed with enough iron or nickel to make it feel magnetic — that's the quickest way to spot a fake.
The test is simple:
- Grab any fridge magnet
- Hold it against your cuff, ring, or necklace
- If it sticks — even slightly — it isn't pure copper
- If it doesn't stick, you're holding the real thing
Every piece I make is 99.9% pure copper — never plated, never alloyed with cheap metals. Run the test on yours the day it arrives. If it ever fails, I'll refund you immediately.

About Me
Every piece I've made starts with the same intention: to be worn by someone whose body needs it.
Copper has been pressed against human skin for thousands of years — by Egyptian queens, by Roman soldiers, by every generation of women who came before us. Worn quietly, daily, against the skin. I've spent 40 years making these pieces by hand in Sedona, and I've watched people come back year after year.
What started as a craft became something I can only describe as a calling. But now, my granddaughters are growing up without me there — and for the first time in 40 years, something matters more than the work.
Every piece in this collection was made by my hands, one at a time. There are only so many I can make — and once they're gone, I won't be making more.
My Mother Lived to 96. She Wore Copper Every Single Day.
Never took it off. Not in the shower. Not when she slept. Not even at her wedding.
We called it superstition. She called it tradition.
She grew up wearing copper jewelry every day — the same way her mother did, and her mother before her.
"You stopped wearing copper and started wondering why everything feels harder."
I dismissed it for years. Until I turned 50 and started looking at her — really looking — and realized she had aged differently than every other woman I knew.
She had what I think modern women have lost: a thing she put on every morning that connected her to her mother, her grandmother, and every woman who came before them. A small daily ritual. Three thousand years old. No pills. No schedule. Nothing to remember.
Her copper bracelet is now on my wrist.
Too late to tell her she was right. But not too late for you.
Frequently asked questions
I've tried copper jewelry before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
Almost certainly because what you wore before wasn't solid copper.
The vast majority of copper jewelry sold online is copper-plated — a thin coating over a base metal, which means almost no real copper contact with your skin.
Every piece I make is 100% pure copper all the way through. No plating, no base metal, no coating. The difference between solid copper and plated copper against skin is significant, and most people notice it.
The other factor is consistency — copper works through daily wear over time, not occasional use. Wear it every day for a month before you decide.

Does copper actually do anything?
I've been asked this for 40 years. Here's what I know:Copper is an essential mineral the human body genuinely needs, and wearing it against the skin is a practice that predates modern medicine by thousands of years.I've never made promises to anyone. What I can tell you is that people who came to me at 55, 60, 65 keep coming back — year after year, decade after decade — without me ever having to explain why.Whether you call that placebo or not, the people wearing my copper noticed something they want to keep noticing. That's all I've ever needed to know.
Is there any scientific evidence?
Formal clinical studies have produced mixed results, and I won't pretend otherwise.
What I will say is this: copper has been worn against human skin for over 3,000 years across virtually every civilization on earth. Roman soldiers. Ayurvedic healers. Native American craftspeople. Generations of women who passed it down to their daughters, who passed it down to theirs.
They weren't running double-blind trials. They were wearing what their grandmothers wore.
My customers aren't scientists either — they're just people who tried everything else first.
Can I wear it in water, or in the shower?
Yes, you can.
Pure copper is naturally resilient — it has been worn by fishermen, farmers, and laborers through every kind of weather and water for centuries.
That said, a few things worth knowing:
- Saltwater and chlorine will accelerate the patina process — your piece will darken and age faster than it would with dry wear
- This is not damage. It is simply the copper responding to its environment, the way real metal does
- Prolonged or repeated exposure to chlorine pools may affect the surface finish over time
If you prefer to keep the original shine, rinse the piece with fresh water after swimming and pat dry. Otherwise — wear it freely. It's made to be lived in, not stored.
Is this just an overpriced piece of metal?
Copper is a base metal, yes. What you're paying for is 40 years of handcraft, 100% pure material, and the fact that this is the last collection I will ever make.I turned down two major wellness companies who wanted to mass-produce my designs because I refused to put my name on something I didn't make with my own hands.Every piece in this store was shaped, engraved, and finished by me. When these are gone, there won't be more. You can buy a copper-plated bracelet for a few dollars anywhere. This is something else.
